An 18-year-old woman is in a "life threatening condition" after being involved in a collision in Helston yesterday afternoon.
Police say the teenager, who was a pedestrian, is believed to have hit the bonnet of a green Skoda Octavia registered to Helston, at 2.55pm.
The 18-year-old was air lifted to Truro's Royal Cornwall Hospital, while the female driver was said to be in "an extreme state of shock."
The air ambulance landed at Helston Cricket Club, close to the scene of the incident on the junction between Trengrouse Way and Clodgey Lane.
It flew the teenager to hospital and a police spokesperson said her condition was "life threatening."
A person with the teenager followed behind to hospital in a land ambulance.
Trengrouse Way was closed in both directions between Clodgey Lane and The Parade due to the incident.
