As children’s thoughts traditionally turn to what they want for Christmas at this time of year, pupils at St Mary’s School in Falmouth have been thinking of others and how they can make life a little better for those less fortunate.
Youngsters from across the whole school got involved with this year’s Samaritan’s Purse’ Shoe Box Appeal, filling boxes with items including colouring books and pens, scarves, teddy bears, sweets and tooth brushes and face flannels.
Last week Christine Morris, who coordinates the appeal at St Mary’s School, collected 100 shoe boxes and delivered them to a depot for onward distribution to children in Eastern Europe.
