The fourth annual Falmouth Spring Festival is drawing to a close but not before another weekend of events which are sure to draw in the crowds.

Last weekend saw the young and not-so-young take advantage of another session of Games on The Moor when they were invited to get to grips with a range of giant-sized games and activities.

For the more serious fitness enthusiasts, teams from The Core brought classes outdoors and encouraged people to join in with Zumba, body combat and a tug-of-war contest, among other things.

This weekend sees the return of the popular Folk and Cider Fayre at Events Square which has been extended this year, running from Friday until Sunday.

After the huge success of last year’s event the organisers have pulled out all the stops to deliver an eclectic line up of some of the “finest traditional and acoustic music out there.”

The fun gets underway at 7pm on Friday with a free ceilidh and barn dance with The Other |Band. The Saturday and Sunday line up includes Cornwall’s extremely popular 3 Daft Monkeys, the international folk artist Sarah McQuaid, Strange Hillfolk, the Changing Room, Kezia, Harry Collier, The Oggymen, The Thatchers and much more.

To complement the music, there will also be over 40 guest specialist ciders from around the country including Black Rat, Rosie’s Pig, Hogans Hazy Daisy, Gwynt Y Draig Happy Daze, Westons Raspberry Twist, Cornish Orchards Vintage to name a few, along with market traders and food stands and admission is free.
