Falmouth's inshore lifeboat crew recovered an unmanned yacht from rocks on Carricknath Point near St Mawes on Tuesday morning after it drifted from it mooring.
The lifeboat was launched just before 8am to rescue the 20 foot Tarka of Percuil, which had broken free from its mooring and drifted out of the estuary with an ebb tide and a northerly wind before running aground.
An RNLI spokesperson said: "A crew member was put on board the yacht and was able to confirm that it was unoccupied and appeared to have broken free from its mooring.
"A tow line was connected to the yacht and it was towed clear of the rocks by the Inshore Lifeboat before being taken to St Mawes where it was secured to a mooring."
