The community came to Cury school on early on a November morning to share a meal and raise funds for the breakfast club.

Young and old were invited to the school's Big Breakfast, held once a term, to enjoy a fry-up, toast, and tea, and raised around £160 for the club.

Lisa Newberry, the school's head teacher, said: "Every term we open the breakfast club up to our community, and this was the best turn out we have had yet.

"It was organised by Brenda Gunn, lots of parents and teachers come in to support and help run it. We do it every term and it's getting better and better.

"It's an opportunity to invite the community to come in and meet with the school. It's very close knit in Cury, and the community does like to be a part of what we are doing."

The money which was raised will be spent on providing better choices for the children who attend the breakfast club.
