There was a celebratory air as the first six families moved into their new Coastline Housing homes at a new development in Reawla.
Coastline is providing 12 houses and flats in the village at an affordable rent, all for local people with a connection to the Gwinear-Gwithian parish. The homes are a mixture of one bedroom flats and two and three bedroom houses.
Karen Goldup, development manager at Coastline Housing, said: “It’s always very satisfying to see new families proudly taking the keys to their new homes. Many of the new residents grew up in the village but were unable to afford to buy or rent a home of their own here. This development has meant that several of them can return to their roots once more and they are delighted to be living in Reawla again."
The remaining families and individuals will move in towards the end of June. Over the next 12 months the developer, Barepta Cove Ltd, will also be building 17 houses that will be offered for sale on the open market on this site. Future plans for the development include a community centre to be constructed near the site entrance.
