It is only five weeks and counting until the ladies of Falmouth and the surrounding areas turn the main streets pink during the annual Pink Wig Ladies Night.

Taking place on Friday, August 5, and heralding the start of Falmouth Week, the Falmouth Marine Band will lead the parade with brewery mascot Betty Stogs joining in to help raise money on the night.

Organisers are "thrilled" to welcome back DJ Nate and live band The Strutts to the marquee on Events Square. Nate will play his normal mix of tunes at intervals throughout the night while the pink ladies will be able to dance the night away to the The Strutts, a fun-loving, energetic group of musicians.

Tickets are selling fast, but are still available, along with t-shirts from outlets in Falmouth including Bow Accessories, Fat Willys, and Tava Beauty along with Tanya’s Courage Charity Shop in Penryn, and from the Pink Wig website pinkwigevents.org.uk.

It is hoped that local businesses will again get involved by turning their shopfronts pink for the day/evening.

Emma Kent, chairperson, said: “We are proud and once again overwhelmed with the support we have been shown by local companies, Falmouth Marine Band, Betty Stogs, the ladies of Falmouth and beyond, and also local hotels and hostelries. For those who were unable to get tickets to the VIP reception at The Greenbank Hotel, we are delighted that the Palacio Lounge on The Moor will be offering pink cocktails for sale with Pink Wig receiving a donation for each drink sold. They are also supporting us by 'going pink' for the day, so a huge thank you to both establishments for their keen interest in Pink Wig."

All the money raised by Pink Wig Events are donated to Cornwall Breast Care Team and Breast Care Now.
