A Cornwall and Devon law firm has been shortlisted for a national award.

Coodes Solicitors has been recognised at the inaugural National Family Law Awards.

The National Family Law Awards, launched last year by Today's Media, aims to recognise and commemorate the hard work and dedication across the family law community.

Coodes was the sole firm in the South West, west of Bristol, to be shortlisted for the Family Law Team of the Year award.

This award highlighted the law firm's exceptional team-based approach to practice, surpassing their peers in delivering outstanding client service and setting an industry standard.

The firm, founded in 1747, boasts eight offices across Cornwall and Devon.

Often referred to as a leading law firm by the Legal 500 and the UK Chambers and Partners guides, Coodes has history on its side.

Coodes houses some of the finest family lawyers in the south who handle complex issues ranging from domestic violence, injunctions, and child arrangement cases, to pension sharing issues, civil partnership dissolution, and local authority child care cases.

Sarah Evans, partner and head of the family department said: "We’re beyond thrilled to have been highly commended in such prestigious national awards.

"This recognition of the team as leading the way in the industry is testament to the way we work together.

"We support each other and train individuals to give them the opportunity to flourish."

The recent recognition follows Coodes' shortlisting for the Clinical Negligence Team of the Year at the Personal Injury Awards last year, as well as partner and department head Rachel Pearce's nomination for Clinical Negligence Lawyer of the Year.

The firm's previous accolades also include a win at the South West Masters Awards 2023 in the Medium Business Category.
