A community defibrillator has been installed in Falmouth thanks to a social care provider.
The defibrillator, situated in the grounds of MHA Langholme, is accessible to anyone in the area.
MHA Langholme is one of many homes run by Methodist Homes (MHA), who are considering implementing defibrillators in all their locations.
The machine requires a code from the emergency services in order to be activated, and is registered with them for ease of use in emergency situations.
Arm's reach from the home, it marks the second defibrillator that has been installed in Falmouth.
MHA Langholme provides residential and dementia care for an upwards of 40 residents.
The home manager, Maria Browne, said: "This is a brilliant initiative led by MHA and something that will benefit so many people.
"Here at MHA Langholme working with and supporting the community is something we are always keen to do, and this is just one example of this.
"A defibrillator can be lifesaving and to enable not just our staff, residents and family members but also our community members to have access to something which can potentially save their life is always a good thing."
