The former manager of the Pandora Inn has applied for an alcohol licence to sell his beer online via a courier service.

Since leaving the Pandora last year, Lester Croft has set up his own Cornwall brewery company Razor Clam Brewing Co .

Lester was part of the management team which ran the popular thatched pub at Restronguet, including when the thatched roof caught fire and the pub was severely damaged.

The pub rose again from the ashes following a long refurbishment.

After leaving the running of the Pandora last year, Mr Croft set up his own brewing company based out of his him address in Perranarworthal, Razor Clam Brewing Co.

Since than the company has gone from strength to strength with his Razor Blonde Pale Ale 4.5% 330ml proving extremely popular in restaurants, bars and shops from Truro to Falmouth, Constantine and Helston.

The brews have proved so popular that Mr Croft has now applied for a licence to sell his produce online from his home which will be despatched by a courier. There will be no face to face sales from the property. A website is also in the offing.

Mr Croft told the Packet he had been obsessed with brewing for a number of years and when he decided to leave the Pandora last year it seemed the obvious thing to do.

He creates the recipe and then has it canned for him by Cornwall based company Firebrand Brewing Company. He also has a business partner based up country.

“I’ve been brewer for a number of years after 11 years at the Pandora the timing was about right really. We’ve got into a few places and managed to establish Razor Clam on the beer map as it were in Cornwall and just see now where it can take us," he said,

"Hopefully it will lead to few other recipes with nice hoppy beers but it's been received really well.

"It’s a summer beer, but really happy with the traction it's getting, hoping it will go really well in the summer.

"I want it to be really popular in Cornwall but also beyond that, I don’t want to be too narrow. I just want to see where I can go with it.

"There’s a ton of brilliant Cornwall brewers out there."

Razor Clam is currently available at Constantine Stores, Bailey's Country Store, Mawgan Stores, Fig Café, Zafiros Bar & Restaurant, The Cellar Tapas Bar, UpperDeck, Castaways, Mylor Stores and The Boathouse at Trebah Garden
