Police are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of 52-year-old Tara Norveil reported missing from Newquay nearly two weeks ago after finding her purple hat.

52-year-old Tara was reported missing on Thursday, March 14 after being last seen leaving her home address wearing the hat and seen walking in the Pentire Avenue/Esplanade Road area of the town.

The purple hat has now been found by the police.

Police have carried out extensive searches of the area since she went missing including house to house, aerial searches, searches on foot and looking at CCTV.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police appealed for anybody with any information to get in touch immediately: "Police are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of 52-year-old Tara Norveil who had been reported missing from Newquay," they said

"Tara was last seen leaving her address in Newquay and walking in the area of Pentire Avenue/Esplanade Road on Thursday, March 14.

"She was last seen wearing a purple hat which has since been found.

"Since Tara was reported missing, police officers have carried out extensive enquiries including house to house, witness appeals, aerial searches, searches on foot and CCTV enquiries.

"Anybody with any information on Tara’s whereabout is asked to call police on 999 quoting log number 361 of 22 March."
