Drivers are being reminded that part of the A30 in Cornwall will be fully closed to traffic this weekend, with diversions put in place.
National Highways is advising drivers to plan their journeys ahead of work taking place under closures of the A30.
As from tonight (Friday, April 12), as part of National Highways’ A30 Chiverton to Carland Cross road upgrade, the section will be fully closed to traffic over the weekend, until 6am on Monday, 14 April.
During the closures, and as per the diagram below, eastbound traffic will be diverted via the A3075 to Goonhavern and the B3285 to rejoin the A30 at Boxheater, with the westbound diversion operating in reverse.
During the week, drivers can obtain up-to-the-minute travel information on local radio, the @HighwaysSWEST Twitter feed, by phoning the National Highways Information Line on 0300 123 5000 or by accessing the website: www.trafficengland.com
In the meantime, more information and further scheme updates are available at National Highways’ A30 Chiverton to Carland Cross web page .
The cost of developing the scheme is being partly funded by an £8 million contribution from the European Regional Development Fund, with an additional £12 million for the construction phase. The remainder of the cost of developing and delivering the scheme is being funded by central Government.
