Kingsbride Women 17 - Falmouth Women 0

In an exciting match on a sunny Sunday, Falmouth Women's rugby team travelled up to Kingsbridge for what turned out to be a challenging encounter, writes Mick Stevens and Gupta Singh.

Playing uphill, Falmouth quickly realised that Kingsbridge Women had made significant progress since their last meeting, boasting a well-drilled team and strong substitutes on the bench.

Although Falmouth conceded an early try, they displayed great resilience and fought back, putting Kingsbridge under immense pressure in their own 22. However, despite their relentless efforts, Falmouth couldn't convert their dominance into points.

The first half proved to be a physical battle, with Falmouth's spirited defence forcing errors from the speedy Kingsbridge side. The second half was marred by frequent stoppages due to injuries, disrupting the flow of the game.

Kingsbridge managed to extend their lead with an unconverted try, as their centre broke through Falmouth's defence. The third try came from a well-executed passage of play, with Kingsbridge capitalising on Falmouth's defensive disarray and scoring a converted try under the posts.

As the match drew to a close, another lengthy injury stoppage occurred, bringing an end to the game.

Despite the result, the Falmouth Women's team can reflect on their season with immense pride. In a short period of time, they have made impressive strides, transitioning from a small group of players to consistently fielding a team of 17.

If this progress continues, it won't be long before the Falmouth Women's XV becomes a formidable force to be reckoned with.
