Falmouth Golf Club's new Captains had their annual “drive ins” on Saturday.

This year's chosen charity is Penhaligons Friends, a local charity based in Redruth that supports bereaved children.

The day was well supported, with 128 golfers competing for men's, women's and juniors' prizes.

The scores were lower than expected due to the challenging conditions, with the strong winds playing a major part on the day.

The men's competition was won by Adam Pryor coming in with a credible 40 points, whose round included seven pars.

The women's competition was won by Masie Drewett who managed to post 37 points and the juniors' competition was won by Rory Kennedy, another promising junior coming through the ranks, who carded 32 points.

The evening was rounded off with a Motown Disco provided by the legendary Kris Kool.

The generosity of the members at Falmouth Golf Club and the sponsors showed no bounds, with an incredible £3,500 raised on the day for Penhaligons Friends.
