FALMOUTH seconds lost to the team above them, St Ives, by seven wickets to remain in the bottom three. Mark Johnson (66) and Ashley Searle (63) put on 136 for Falmouth's first wicket.

They ended on 221 for eight but an unbeaten century from Dave Marsh and 91 from George Day saw the home team home with nine balls to spare.

In division five Ben Tann hit 80 to see Stithians to a three wicket win at Gerrans. In division six Mawnan won their ninth game with a three wicket home win over Mt Hawke, who were restricted to 126.

Wendron took a step to mid table safety in division three thanks to a five wicket win at Beacon. The home side made 163 with Steve Proctor top scoring with 39. Tim Kitchen (3-28) and Ryan Mitchell (3-40) led the way with the ball. Wendron openers Tony Harris (56) and Sam Care (37) got their side off to a good start before Ryan Mitchell (30) and Kitchen (34no) finished the job.

Leedstown gave the leaders Troon a good game at Treslothan Road before losing by 14 runs. Local MP Andrew George took seven for 31 to bowl understrength Troon out for 199. Leedstown replied with 185 with Luke Stuckey making 39.

Porthleven did well to win by four wickets at St Just. Neil Bartlett took three wickets to restrict the home side to 184 for seven. Chris Higgs led the Port response with 39 with Brad Bury, Martin Duck, Phil Harding and Paul Combellack all passing 20.

Luke Clark hit 62 for Helston seconds to maintain their division five promotion push. They beat Redruth at Redruth School by 63 runs. Porthleven seconds won at home to Falmouth by six wickets with Michael Morris making 44 not out and Chris Cattlin hitting 37.

In Division Six West, Oliver Childs hit 102 for Wendron while George Whitbread scored 75 as they beat St Gluvias by 41 runs.
