A CAR dealership has been unveiled as the main sponsor for the Cornwall Football Association.
Bodmin-based company West End Motors Vauxhall has agreed a deal for the 2014/15 season to be the main sponsor for cup competitions held by the association including the Cornwall Senior Cup and Junior Cup.
The deal will also see the firm promote grassroots football in the Duchy.
Dawn Aberdeen, chief executive of Cornwall FA, said they were delighted to secure the sponsorship.
“Our 15 county cup competitions play an integral role in our engagement with clubs in Cornwall,” she said.
“We are endeavouring to attract sponsors to assist with developing methods to support the football community and ensure we lead the way in creating competitions that uphold the highest standards.
“I am delighted West End Motors Vauxhall has agreed to work with us to support grassroots football by becoming headline sponsors for both the Senior and Junior cup competitions.
“It is a common misconception that the work of a county FA revolves mainly around rules and regulations, but our work in developing and supporting the game for our clubs is fundamental and this is a great opportunity to promote that message.”
