A PERFECT start was made by Falmouth Seconds in their opening Trelawny League One clash of the season as they stuffed Plym Valley 9-0.

Hat-tricks from Emily Dunstan and Vic Pryor helped their side to the emphatic victory at Penryn College on Saturday while Bella Corbridge and Iona Middleton also got the scoresheet.

Falmouth were promoted last season and were hoping to get off to a good start and soon found themselves in front as Corbridge slotted home from close range in the fifth minute.

Dunstan doubled the lead with a superb angled reverse stick shot four minutes later, but after this it took the hosts a little while to breach the away defence again with Pryor scoring just before half time.

It had been one-way traffic with attacks by Plym few and far between, with June Moore dealing with any shots which did come her way.

More of the same was produced by Falmouth after the restart with all 13 players being rotated to keep them fresh upfront.

Pryor scored her second within the first minute of the second half and Middleton got on the mark not long afterwards.

Valley held out until the final ten minutes when a flurry of four goals rattled in with Dunstan bagging two and Pryor and Corbridge both getting one each.

The team were delighted with the start and how new members Becky Morris, Kerry Thorne and Suzanne Bull fitted into the squad, with the latter being voted player-of-the-match.

Their next game is away at Plymouth University while the first open their 2015/16 campaign at Teign on Saturday.
