WENDRON'S almost farcical fixture schedule in the final month of the season came to an end with two more games in Division 1 West of the SWPL on Sunday.

Charlie Davis' men completed their 11th game in four weeks when they lost 3-2 at Vospers, just 24 hours after a 4-2 home victory over Dobwalls.

In Plymouth on Sunday, the game ended in rather comical fashion when the home side scored a last minute winner. Keeper Ben Mitchell attempted to clear the ball but it crashed into a team mate and fell to a Vospers striker. His shot bounced back off the post and Mitchell looked favourite to gather the ball, but delayed picking it up, allowing a home player to toe-punt the ball and into the net.

It was tough luck on Wendron, whose understrength side had taken a first minute lead through Jack Stocker.

The hosts hit back with two goals before the break, before Stocker's second of the match looked to have earned the visitors a point until the final moments of the match.

Wendron: B Mitchell, J Greenwood, A Peters, J Moseley, P Crawley, B Stone, B Hawke, J Stocker, S Hawke, J Searle, M Bowden. Subs: R Mitchell, J Mitchell, T Corke.

At Underlane on Saturday, the hosts fell behind to a Curtis Kearney goal midway through the first half.

Wendron were level ten minutes into the second half when Justin Searle squared for Tom Langford to slot home, before a Bryan Hawke shot was spilled by the keeper and Matt Rose was on hand to tuck away the rebound.

Damon Swain levelled matters with 20 minutes to go, but Searle restored the lead when he cut in from the right and smashed the ball home from six yards.

Langford added a fourth goal to end a long winless run for the hosts.
