The International Dart 18 racing catamaran is 40 years old this year and still going strong all over the world. The Dart 18 was originally conceived, tested, manufactured and sold from the Panthercraft Company base in Penryn. More recently the production and sales has been brought back to Cornwall by local company Windsport who have a long association with the Dart and continue to sell the product in the UK, Europe and other world locations, along with technical support and coaching.

To celebrate its success Restronguet SC and Windsport, based at Mylor Harbour, have joined forces to provide a whole weekend of catamaran racing for the class sailors. In keeping with its 40 years of racing 40 x Dart 18 catamarans have been invited to join in the fun travelling from across the UK and Europe.

Racing starts on Saturday, July 2 around 12pm and will take place on the Carrick Roads and in front of Restronguet SC with a prize giving on the Sunday afternoon before sailor head back to their own sailing clubs up country and across the channel.

Spectators are welcome, there is car parking right behind the sailing club at the Windsport Water sport Centre.

The Saturday evening “Beach Party” with live band and barbecue will provide the entertainment for sailors and visitors alike to round off a day of great sailing and racing.
