PENZANCE'S Helen Glover has won Olympic gold with rowing partner Heather Stanning in Rio de Janeiro.
The pair led the coxless pairs race from the start and although the New Zealand crew gained ground on them in the last 200 metres of the 2000m race, the British women held on for glory.
Glover, 30, who was born in Truro, won gold and broke the Olympic record with Stanning at the London Olympics four years ago.
