Cornwall begin their bid to become English County Champions at the finals hosted by Sandwell Park Golf Club tomorrow. They will be looking to emulate their 2014 win as they take on the might of Yorkshire, Warwickshire and the combined team representing Hampshire, the Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands in three days of round robin matchplay.

Cornwall qualified for the finals after comprehensively beating the five other regional counties during the strokeplay qualifier in SW Week at St Enodoc in early June this year.

Cornwall's day one opener will be against Hampshire, Isle of Wight and Channel Islands, whilst Yorkshire will face Warwickshire. Thereafter the fixtures are determined by the results of those first matches. The matches comprise three morning foursomes followed by six afternoon singles matches.

The Duchy team will be missing Harry Hall who has returned to the United States for his sophomore year at the University of Nevada and Las Vegas.

In the absence of Hall the county had hoped to be boosted by the return of Tom Fox (China Fleet) but whilst his amateur status will be regained by the time of the finals he remains ineligible. Fox though will be lending his support to the team.

County captain David Kneebone's full side, which contains three County Champions, is: Joe Cruse (St Enodoc), Matt Richards (West Cornwall), Ryan Curtis (Bude & N Cornwall), Josh Greenaway (Bowood Park), Rob MacGregor (Tehidy Park), Richard Jasper (Launceston) and Conor Wilson (Perranporth).

You will be able to follow the finals on the England Golf website.
